Dust
Ashes
Straw
This wild and flashing
blur of consciousness
arising
a wave at best a ripple
In the billowing tapestry
Of infinite waste
A cosmic allegory
Lost in space
Indistinguishable
From all the other specks
blades and neon glints
Except for this
You were painted raw exquisite
Naked hand of God the artist
Look at your lips
The way they part
still your shadow falls in water
Dissolving like an aspirin
Yet we danced
leaves in sunlight
Dance tossed then
spun by the wind
spun by the wind
Our souls were
a whirl in motion
Brought together
Through unfathomable vastness
Just to touch and smell and hear
And taste some more and see
A touch too much
And dance again and bleed and cry
and laugh and sing
and laugh and sing
then blown off the cliff
as if dandelion fluff
Annihilated
By the
wind.
