A Dog Don't Crowie

They've all got legs
Said David Crowie
He found those words
On a Japanese carving
Of a geisha dolphin
In a burnt out coke den
East of Berlin
So he cut them and put them
In a pop song guess what
It went like a haircut
Straight to the top
That's what I mean
When I say don't be lewd
It's all or nothing
Between me and you
It's a personal message
Where the unsaid is said
It's meant to unveil you
To get you to bed
Just me you and Bowie
And a legion of fans
Painted with feathers
And rubbed off with sand

You gave me legs
You gave me wings
You ding the dong
And dong the dings
You made the bird
I think it's a lark pip
I think it's a lark
who's song he sings
Though, I'm in the dark
But a dog don't crow
And a crow don't bark

They've all got legs
Said David Crowie
He found those words
On a Japanese carving
Of a geisha dolphin
In a burnt out coke den
East of Berlin
They'd have made him a knight this day
If only he'd swimmed
Like Dolphins can swim.
